So we get home from church and we get a facetime call from Dave and Jan.  It took me about 2 seconds to get how funny it was.

One of out Beautiful Sunsets!!!

Temple Trip

Kaylyn planned a Temple tour trip for her friends in the ward.  They started out on Friday and went to Rexburg, Afton, picked up grandpa for the rest of the trip, drove to Logan and stayed with Clinton and Rachel.  Then hit the Logan temple Saturday and the Brigham City Temple before heading home to finish up in Idaho Falls.  I got this picture and was a little jealous!

Pampering Grandma

Mom was worried about her dry skin and mentioned it to Kalen one day so Kalen brought a Mud Mask to help moisturize mommas face.  She didn't ever know I took this picture, she would have killed me.  HaHa

The Green Kiddos

I sometimes take the kids to Salt Lake for their flight to their momma in Louisiana.  This was when they finally got to go after Brian put Aubrie through an ugly court battle trying to keep them from her.  We were so glad they finally got to go.  I took them to SCL and stayed until their plane took off.

Moms last trip to the Cabin.

Mom had been wanting to go and I promised myself that I would do whatever I could to make sure she was happy, had good quality of life and had many opportunities to go to the cabin where she LOVED.  So on the average of 6 times each year we would make the journey to the cabin and spend as much time as we could.  I cherish those trips more than I can express.  Just mom and I resting and enjoying the quiet and the spirit that is there.  We would clean up the yards and read and watch movies and go eat at the Sourdough and get ice cream and just enjoy our time together.  I cherish those trips so much!  This would be a life changing trip.  We left home on Monday May 4.  Mom wanted to be there for her 66th Anniversary! And I wanted that to happen for her.  She was tired but was so happy to be there.  Tuesday evening we hear what sounded like a Harley motor.  Sure enough, Mike came up on Dad's Harley and she was "thrilled" to see it and hear that engine!  What was a surprise visit was really a Tender Mercy!!  Wednesday morning she woke up having chest pain and she was in distress and that woke me up so I ran in to check on her.  I gave her a Nitro and waited for a few minutes and when that didn't relieve her pain I gave her another one and ran over to the kids cabin to get Mike.  I ran back and she was still having trouble so I gave her one more Nitro and when Mike came through the door I didn't want to make it seem like I was overly worried so I began to sing "HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO YOU"  and Mike played right along.  We then asked her if she wanted a blessing and it was so special.  Mike anointed her and told her, "mom you have finished all your work here on earth" .  He told her there wasn't anything else left for her to do and that it was ok for her to go on.  We kept asking if she wanted us to call the ambulance and she did NOT want to go.  So we just held her hand and tried to keep her comfortable.  We really thought that she would slip away there.  About an hour and a half later and after asking multiple times if she wanted an ambulance and still in pain, I told Mike I was calling.  I said we could not make her comfortable and at least at the hospital they would make her comfortable.  So I called and they came and saw how bad she was and ordered Life Flight.  Mike followed mom and I in the ambulance and at the Fire Station we met the Life Flight helicopter.  They got her stable and transferred into the Helicopter and I rode in the front with the pilot and Mike rode the motorcycle and came straight to the hospital.  It took him almost 2 hours to get there.  We were there in 20 minutes.  They worked on her and kept testing her for protein in her blood which tell us how severe her heart attack was.  They got her stable and comfortable and admitted her to the cardio floor and we spent the next few days at Saint Lukes.  The doctors all kept testing and consulting together and after the 3rd day they came in and talked to us about the damage that was done and gave her options of a surgery or treating with medication and then introduced the idea of Hospice since she declined the surgery.  They told her with as bad as her heart function was she had about 6 months.  That hit like a ton of bricks.  She was then ready to go home.  They did not want her to travel the 4 hours home right out of the hospital and suggested we stay in town until Monday.  But you know grandma, she agreed to spend the night with Dan and Sherie and first thing Sunday morning she and I were packed and heading home.  She just wanted to be home.  Monday we called the Hospice that Sandy used with her mother, they were so happy with them and I am so glad we called them, Hands of Hope.  They came Tuesday and consulted with us and mom wanted to think about it for a while.  The following week we called them back and mom was ready to sign up.  They were absolutely wonderful.  We loved them all.
While she was still in the hospital she got a special visit from her sister Evelyn.  Deanna brought her up to see mom.  It was the last time they saw each other in this life.  I am so glad that they have become so close.  She also got a visit from Naomi.  She drove down from Lowman to come and see momma.  They are such wonderful neighbors!!!!
When we got mom to Dan's house Amelia came to visit her also.  Mom was pretty wiped out from the heart attack so Amelia didn't stay for long but it was so good to see those two precious friends together!
Just as a side note:  today as of writing this the date is May 9, 2019.  I have long put off doing my blog for last year because I knew that reliving the memories would be hard and painful.  I usually have the blog book done and published in January.  I was right, the memories are hard but I am finally getting it done and I think therapeutic  I miss mom more that I ever imagined I would.  She was such a huge presence in my life, and especially the last 6 years she lived with us.  I love and cherish her for eternity!
